I want to shoot any anti-monarchist in the face.
They complain that the Queen takes up so much money but a lot of the time she makes her own money by opening up her castles. And yes they do belong to her if I had a house handed down to me by my parents it would be a disgrace to take that away from me. Just because the royal family achieved something in history and became the most powerful family and gained many castles does not mean that that property is not theirs. Also the tourism the queen attracts is insane not to mention the sales of things to do with the queen or that simply have a crown emblem on it. Without the queen we are a rainy island that no one would come to. I am proud to have a head of state that can unite many countries and let everyone enjoy themselves, any other head of state is political and cannot bring people together like the royals. And anyone who says she has an easy life is dead wrong any royal may not have to work in the traditional sense but their entire life is devoted to representing themselves as regal and having public attention on them 24/7, they are born to a life in which billions of people if not look to you at least know of you, and they cannot change their life, they cannot pick another path to follow. Just today the Queen who is an old woman and has a ridiculously busy schedule anyway had to stand on her barge for 4 hours even though she has also had operations on her knees. I would like to see someone else do that. The problem with this country is that people are not patriotic enough so they do not care what happens to the country, so it makes me incredibly happy when I can walk down a street and see hundreds of Union Jacks. I am also proud that the flag can have its identity taken back from the BNP and racist nationalists of this country and its meaning placed back with the Royals who also represent a higher class of life and a more thoughtful and even though I hate to say it a more “posh” way of life. The royals are role models to how the British should conduct themselves. And I would much rather have the world associate the work Britain to the perhaps outdated monarchy than to chav culture. The Royals also represent a beautiful mix between the historical and the modern and ceremony. Any “Briton” who is not proud of their royal family which is their countries history and the head of state their ancestors have supported and died for should be ashamed and go somewhere else (preferably throwing themselves in the channel and trying to swim the ocean).
